MCD's Heat Action Plan: Sustaining Lives Amidst Scorching Heat

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi launched its Heat Action Plan to address rising temperatures in the capital. Measures include providing cold drinking water and ORS solutions for sanitation workers, distributing caps, and deploying water-equipped vehicles. Additionally, animals and birds are being protected with water provisions in public spaces.

In response to soaring temperatures in Delhi, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has rolled out strategic measures as part of its Heat Action Plan. The initiative aims to safeguard sanitation workers and local wildlife from severe heatwave impacts.

To ensure hydration and prevent heat-related illnesses, MCD has established cold drinking water and ORS solution stations at sanitary inspector offices and roll-call sites. Water-equipped vehicles have also been dispatched across different zones, enhancing field support.

Protecting animals and birds during the heatwave, the corporation has placed earthen pots filled with water at various localities and parks. These efforts are instrumental in mitigating the harsh effects of extreme weather conditions for both human and animal life.
