In a tragic turn of events, a severe storm coupled with torrential rains struck the Bhadohi and Budaun districts of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, claiming 11 lives and causing widespread destruction, officials reported.
Rescue efforts are underway but face significant challenges due to disrupted mobile networks. "We are currently confirming reports detailing damaged properties and uprooted trees," stated Additional District Magistrate Kunwar Virendra Kumar Maurya from Bhadohi. Six deaths have been reported, although numbers may rise, he added.
Budaun also suffered fatalities, including those of two minor girls caught under a collapsed mud wall. Local law enforcement and administrative teams are actively involved in relief efforts across the affected regions.
