Historic Leap: India's Defence Boost with AMCA Project Inauguration

Rajnath Singh and N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation for the Rs 16,000 crore AMCA project in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative marks a significant advancement in India's defence sector, focusing on indigenous combat aircraft manufacturing, enhancing national security, and generating employment opportunities in the region.

The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took a historic step by inaugurating the Rs 16,000 crore Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project in Sri Sathya Sai district on Friday. This marks a transformative moment in India's defence landscape.

Addressing a public meeting, Singh emphasized the strategic importance of self-reliance in national security, acknowledging India's current dependency on foreign countries. The AMCA project, spearheaded by the Aeronautical Development Agency, strengthens India's indigenous defence capabilities.

The Chief Minister highlighted the project's potential to position Andhra Pradesh as a defense hub. Set on 650 acres in Puttaparthi, the AMCA project aims to create 7,500 jobs and is part of broader initiatives including a drone city in Kurnool. Together, these projects buoy the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
