Kerala's Chief Minister-designate, V D Satheesan, has made a notable decision to restrict his convoy to just three vehicles. This move marks a significant departure from his predecessor's extensive motorcade, which had attracted criticism.
Satheesan's directive permits only a pilot and escort vehicle to accompany his official car, with instructions to avoid creating roadblocks for the public. The change reflects a shift away from the traditional VIP culture associated with political leaders.
His predecessor, Pinarayi Vijayan, and former CM Oommen Chandy had notably larger entourages, making Satheesan's choice a symbolic and practical measure for public engagement.
