Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi has announced an ambitious timeline to clear prominent landfill sites, setting a target to remediate Bhalswa and Okhla by the end of the year, and Ghazipur by 2027. This initiative is a part of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) broader strategy for comprehensive waste management.

Addressing civic challenges beyond landfills, Wahi outlined initiatives to manage stray animals through sterilization and vaccinations, while also improving monsoon preparedness through substantial drain desilting operations. Additionally, a cow dung biogas plant is slated to begin functioning by July, reflecting the MCD's commitment to sustainable waste processing innovations.

In addressing fiscal challenges, the mayor emphasized revenue enhancement through tax improvements. On the educational front, Wahi assured timely textbook delivery to MCD schools. He reaffirmed commitments to uplift sanitation standards citywide, aspiring to elevate Delhi's cleanliness ranking among Indian cities, with support from the local government.
