Uttarakhand: Heatwave warning for plains, adjoining hills; light rain likely in isolated places
A heatwave warning has been issued for isolated areas in Uttarakhand's plains and hills, with temperatures expected to remain above normal for the next few days.

The India Meteorological Department on Monday issued a heatwave warning for isolated places in the plains and adjoining hills of Uttarakhand.
Maximum temperatures remained above normal across the plains and hills during the past 24 hours.
The meteorological centre said it expects the maximum temperatures to remain the same in the next two to three days.
It said the temperatures will likely fall gradually by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the subsequent three to four days.
Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees Celsius above normal.
The weather office said the maximum and minimum temperatures in Dehradun are expected to hover around 41 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively, on May 26.
Dehradun will likely experience clear to partly cloudy skies on May 26, with thunder clouds in some areas, it said.
Pantnagar also recorded a maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Mukteshwar at 29.4 degrees, while New Tehri at 30.1 degrees Celsius.
The weather office has also predicted very light to light rain or thunderstorms at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on May 26.
Dry weather is likely to prevail across the remaining districts of the state, it said.
