Villagers Roar Against Leopard Attacks in Pauri

Angered by frequent leopard attacks, villagers in Uttarakhand's Pauri district blocked the Srinagar-Pauri highway on Monday, voicing their frustrations at the forest department's perceived inaction.

The protest, which lasted three hours, exempted essential services such as ambulances, while causing significant disruption to regular vehicular movement.

Divisional Forest Officer Mahatim Yadav responded to the scene, pacifying protestors and clearing the way. With recent leopard incidents escalating in intensity, authorities have stepped up measures, including the deployment of hunters and enhanced patrols, promising to address the community's safety concerns.
