Tragic lightning strikes across Jharkhand have resulted in the deaths of five people, including a child and two women, in the past day. These unfortunate incidents occurred in four districts, notably Garhwa, Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Bokaro.
A young girl named Ashrita was struck by lightning while collecting mangoes with her parents in Ranchi's Kulli village. Her parents sustained injuries and received medical treatment. In Garhwa, a woman lost her life in Garakhurd village, and a man perished in Banajangha village.
Elsewhere, fatal lightning strikes claimed the life of a woman in Dhanbad's Chungi village and a young man in Bokaro's Babudih village. The inclement weather, featuring heavy rain and thunderstorms, has prompted an orange alert from the India Meteorological Department for several districts until Sunday morning.
Ranchi Meteorological Centre's Deputy Director highlighted that two atmospheric troughs caused the weather change, which temporarily lowered temperatures. However, over the next few days, temperatures are forecasted to rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.
