Two brothers from Lucknow, Abhinav and Abhishek Vajpayee, tragically lost their lives after being struck by lightning during a violent storm at Tungnath-Chopta in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. Officials reported that two of their companions also suffered significant injuries.
The situation unfolded on Friday evening when adverse weather, including severe storms and heavy rainfall, left tourists stranded in Tungnath-Chopta. The District Disaster Management Office swiftly dispatched rescue teams to the location. Despite challenging conditions, the injured were evacuated and taken to a local hospital.
Local residents described the storm as sudden and intense, causing panic among tourists in the region. The swift response of local authorities was crucial in managing the situation and providing immediate aid to those affected.
