India's Ethanol Revolution: Cheaper E85 Fuel on the Horizon
India is set to introduce E85 gasoline, which is about 20 rupees per liter cheaper than the regular E20 fuel. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced the rollout on Friday, as Indian automakers begin launching flex-fuel vehicles compatible with this higher ethanol blend.
India is preparing to revolutionize its fuel market with the introduction of E85 gasoline, expected to be around 20 rupees per liter cheaper than the conventional E20 fuel. The announcement was made by Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday, marking a significant shift in the nation's energy strategy.
In response to this move, Indian automakers have started rolling out flex-fuel vehicles designed to operate on the higher ethanol blend. This new development is seen as a critical step towards reducing carbon emissions and reliance on traditional fossil fuels.
The initiative aims not only to offer consumers a more economical fuel option but also to bolster the country's commitment to cleaner energy resources. This major policy shift highlights India's efforts in embracing alternative fuels amid growing environmental concerns.
