World Earth Day celebrated at Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar
Students took out a rally to create awareness on environment by raising slogans and displaying placards. Skits were held on deforestation, pollution and illegal pouching led by human being causing mass environmental degradation.

The NCC unit of Government College Bomdila celebrated the World Earth Day on 22 April on the theme 'Protect our species'.
To commemorate the celebration, an aerobic session was carried out in the College premises. Fitness instructor Rai of Yen Fitness Club, Bomdila was called in as the resource person.
Pamphlets on the need for protection and conservation of human species were also distributed to the students.
A 5-minute video titled 'Earth Day 1970-2017-What's changed?' was also screened on the occasion. Later, the students participated in a poster making competition. The programme was aimed at spreading awareness on the need to protect the Mother Earth.
At Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar, students observed the international earth day by holding processions and skit shows. Students took out the rally shouting slogans on saving the planet and its environment by displaying meaningful placards. Skits were held on deforestation, pollution and illegal pouching led by human being causing mass environmental degradation.
Trees were also planted on the occasion.
At Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic, the NCC cadets of training under 1 AP Battalion National Cadet Corps (ARMY) took out the rally on Monday on the occasion of the "Earth Day" to promote environmental awareness by sensitizing students and people towards their role in addressing global environmental challenges.
The March led by Lieutenant Palvinder Singh, ANO, echoed slogans of "Save Earth", "Go Green No Polythene", "No earth, no life", "Plant Trees". On the occasion, the cadets also planted tree saplings, cleaned campus and actively took part in a seminar on Earth Day and took the oath to protect the natural resources.
The Earth Day was also celebrated by NCC cadets of NIT Yupia and JNC Pasighat by taking out a similar demonstration. The cadets of 1 AP N NCC all across the state celebrate the Earth Day by taking a pledge to plant trees and assist in waste management by reducing, reusing and recycling under the guidance of Col R K Sharma, Commanding Officer and Maj Shikha Yadav, Administrative Officer 1 AP Battalion National Cadet Corps (ARMY).
The National cadet corps unit of Govt College Bomdila successfully conducted world Earth day here on the theme of "protect our species" at Govt College Bomdila. Instructor of Yen fitness club, Sanju Rai spoke as a resource person. Principal Sangja Khandu, Learned Professor, staff and students of GCB actively participate in the said programme.
