Rams to get first preseason game at SoFi Stadium

The Los Angeles Rams will open their new shared facility, Sofi Stadium, on Aug. 14 when they oppose the New Orleans Saints in a preseason game. The Los Angeles Chargers will play their first home preseason game in Inglewood, Calif., two days later when they host the Dallas Cowboys.

It remains unknown if fans will be able to attend any games this season because of social-distancing restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. The co-tenants of the new venue south of Los Angeles are scheduled to face each other on Aug. 22 when the Chargers play host to the Rams.

The Rams will play in the new venue in each of the first three weeks of the preseason. They will play host to the Denver Broncos on Aug. 29 then close out the exhibition schedule with a visit to Las Vegas to meet the Raiders on Sept. 3. The Chargers will be on the road for their final two preseason games, Aug. 27 at Seattle and Sept. 3 at San Francisco.

The Rams are scheduled to play the first regular-season game at SoFi Stadium on Sept. 13 against the Cowboys in the first Sunday night game of the season. The Chargers will play their first regular-season game at the stadium on Sept. 20 when they host the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. The previous week, the Chargers will open the season at Cincinnati.
