Pirates acquire LHP Davis from Phillies

Davis, 27, has a 21.00 ERA in four appearances out of the Philadelphia bullpen this season, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in three innings. He was designated for assignment on Friday. Since making his debut with the Phillies in 2018, Davis is 1-2 with a 5.86 ERA in 50 appearances.

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired lefthander Austin Davis from the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday in exchange for a player to be named later and cash considerations. Davis, 27, has a 21.00 ERA in four appearances out of the Philadelphia bullpen this season, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in three innings. He was designated for assignment on Friday.

Since making his debut with the Phillies in 2018, Davis is 1-2 with a 5.86 ERA in 50 appearances. He has struck out 64 batters and allowed 11 homers and 27 walks in 58 1/3 innings. He spent most of 2019 at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, earning a spot on the International League's midseason All-Star team and finishing 4-1 with a 2.75 ERA and three saves in 37 outings.
