Cowboys TE Gathers arrested for pot possession

Dallas Cowboys tight end Rico Gathers was arrested Friday night in Frisco, Texas for marijuana possession, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Gathers was expected to be on the bubble for the Cowboys' 53 man roster when it is set at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.

According to the report, Frisco police smelled marijuana coming from a parked vehicle and found Gathers inside.

Gathers, who was reportedly in possession of fewer than two ounces of marijuana, was taken to jail Friday night and released on bond in the morning.
