Miami Dolphins receiver Parker (finger) returns to practice

Miami Dolphins receiver DeVante Parker returned to practice Friday for the first time since breaking his right middle finger nearly four weeks ago.

Parker ran pass routes on the side but the injury hasn't healed enough for him to catch passes. He was wearing a large pad on his hand to protect the finger.

Parker undoubtedly will be listed as out when the Dolphins release their injury report later Friday for Sunday's season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

A more likely target for Parker's season debut is the Week 2 game against the New York Jets or the following week against the Oakland Raiders.

Parker caught 57 passes for 670 yards and one touchdown last season. The 2015 first-round pick has 139 receptions for 1,908 yards and eight touchdowns in three NFL seasons.

Offseason acquisition Albert Wilson will start in Parker's place against the Titans.

Also, running back Frank Gore was back at practice after resting Thursday. Gore (Achilles) has started 108 consecutive games but that streak is in jeopardy with Miami leaning toward opening with Kenyan Drake.
