The NFL will fine Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters $13,000 for a lewd touchdown celebration during a Week 1 win over the Oakland Raiders, according to Yahoo Sports. With the Rams up 26-13, Peters picked off Derek Carr's late fourth-quarter pass at midfield and returned it for a score -- turning and grabbing his crotch as he leaped backward into the end zone.

NASCAR notebook: Allgaier setting sights on a championship

The Xfinity Series regular season concludes in Saturday night's DC Solar 300 (5 p.m. ET on NBCSN, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and current points leader Justin Allgaier is not only enjoying a career year but intent to turn it into a championship. The JR Motorsports driver has five wins and leads Cole Custer by a healthy 49 points in the championship standings. The victory total is more than double that of Allgaier's entire previous nine-year career competing in the series.

WADA committee recommends reinstatement of Russia's anti-doping agency

The World Anti-Doping Agency said on Friday that its compliance review committee (CRC) had recommended the reinstatement of Russian anti-doping agency RUSADA, which has been suspended since 2015 over alleged state-backed doping. WADA said the committee had reviewed a letter from the Russian sports ministry it said had "sufficiently acknowledged the issues identified in Russia," thus fulfilling the first of two remaining criteria for its reinstatement.

Saints DT Onyemata assessed a hefty fine for penalties

Several NFL players were fined more than $20,000 each for hits on the opposing quarterback in Week 1, but it was a particularly expensive weekend for defensive tackle David Onyemata of the New Orleans Saints. Onyemata was flagged for roughing the passer twice, which resulted in a fine of $40,108 -- $20,054 for each infraction -- in a 48-40 loss to Tampa Bay last Sunday.

Four-way tie for Evian lead after Olson fires 65

American Amy Olson stormed into contention with a six-under-par 65 in the second round of the Evian Championship in France on Friday, but Mo Martin, Lee Mi-Hyang and rookie Maria Torres did enough to ensure a four-way tie for the overall lead. World number 89 Olson took charge at Evian-Les-Bains with four birdies on the front nine before dropping a shot at the 10th hole.

NHL notebook: Career over for Detroit's Zetterberg

Henrik Zetterberg's NHL career is over due to a degenerative back issue, Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said Friday as training camp opened. Zetterberg was holding out hope he could return for the 16th season, but he already had been ruled out of being ready for the start of the season.

Seahawks sign troubled LB Kendricks

The Seattle Seahawks officially announced the signing of linebacker Mychal Kendricks on Friday, more than a week after he pled guilty to insider trading. Seattle was in need of linebacker help with middle linebacker Bobby Wagner battling a groin injury and outside linebacker K.J. Wright in jeopardy of missing his second straight game due to a knee injury.

NFL injury notebook: Packers' Rodgers questionable for Vikings

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings due to the left knee injury he suffered in the opener against the Chicago Bears. "Aaron's getting better," Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy told reporters on Friday. "He was in the meeting this morning. I would say he feels better than he did at the beginning of the week."

MLB notebook: Yankees' Judge activated from DL

--The New York Yankees activated All-Star slugger Aaron Judge from the disabled list Friday, but with a catch. According to manager Aaron Boone, the Yankees do not deem him ready to bat just yet. Instead, the 6-foot-7 outfielder will be used at times on the bases and on defense only amid his ongoing recovery from an injured right wrist.
