Per the report, the Seahawks hope to re-sign Johnson after Monday's game at Chicago, but they needed an additional roster spot against the Bears. Seattle has three players (wideout Doug Baldwin, linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright) already ruled out for Monday, with three more doubtful (guard D.J. Fluker, cornerback Tre Flowers, safety Delano Hill) and cornerback Shaquill Griffin questionable.

Johnson, 34, joined the Seahawks on a one-year, $2.1 million deal as a free agent this offseason. He was given a $900,000 signing bonus, and his base salary of $950,000 was guaranteed after he was on the roster through Week 1. He started and played 39 snaps against the Denver Broncos, recording one tackle.

The eighth-year veteran has been an effective interior pass rusher for the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings, including a two-year stretch (2014-15) in which he tallied 12 sacks. Johnson has 21 sacks in 103 career games (26 starts).
