Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Wednesday flagged off the 'Run for Unity' here to mark the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Rao and Fadnavis also administered the oath to citizens on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day) at the event held at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai.
State ministers Subhash Desai, Vinod Tawde and Mahadev Jankar also were present on the occasion.
Fadnavis also paid tributes to Patel. He also paid respects to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary.
