Team by team analysis of Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya (listed in current championship order): RED BULL (Max Verstappen 1, Sergio Perez 4)

Verstappen won from pole with fastest lap after leading every practice session and every lap of the race. It was his 40th career win, fifth of the year and third in a row plus his third in Spain. Apart from the start, when he was challenged by Sainz into the first corner, it was a dominant win and the third 'Grand Slam' of his career. Both started on medium tyres, Perez in 11th place. The Mexican switched to hards on lap 23 and softs on lap 50. MERCEDES (Lewis Hamilton 2, George Russell 3)

Mercedes gave their re-designed car its first proper test and leapfrogged Aston Martin for second place with a first double podium of the season. Russell took his first top three finish since he won in Brazil last November. Hamilton started fourth, Russell 12th and both on the softs. Russell was up to seventh by the end of lap one and did a 25-lap opening stint before switching to mediums and then back to softs. ASTON MARTIN (Lance Stroll 6, Fernando Alonso 7)

Spaniard Alonso started eighth, Stroll fifth. The Canadian was third following the first lap after passing Hamilton but struggled for pace after five laps with higher tyre wear than expected. Both made two stops, starting on softs. Stroll did 32 laps on the hards at the end, Alonso did a 25-lap middle stint on softs and held position at the end. FERRARI (Carlos Sainz 5, Charles Leclerc 11)

Sainz started on the front row and raced Verstappen to the first corner before falling back. Leclerc qualified 19th and started from the pitlane. Both made two stops. Leclerc went from hard to soft (lap 16) and back to hard (lap 41). Sainz started on soft, switched to medium and then hard but the car suffered high tyre degradation. ALPINE (Esteban Ocon 8, Pierre Gasly 10)

Alpine's third successive double points finish saw them pull further away from McLaren. Gasly qualified fourth but started 10th and lost four places at the start, after two three-place penalties for impeding in qualifying. Both did two stops (soft-medium-hard). MCLAREN (Oscar Piastri 13, Lando Norris 17)

Norris lined up third but then it all went wrong, contact with Hamilton breaking his front wing and forcing him to pit for a replacement and dropping to the back. The Briton pitted twice more for tyres. Piastri started ninth and made two stops. HAAS (Nico Hulkenberg 15, Kevin Magnussen 18)

Haas were the only team to pit three times for tyres in a soft-medium-hard-medium strategy. Hulkenberg started seventh but lost a position on the opening lap while Magnussen gained four to 13th. Both suffered heavy tyre degradation. ALFA ROMEO (Guanyu Zhou 9, Valtteri Bottas 19)

Zhou's first points since Australia in April. He and Bottas have each scored four. The Chinese finished 10th but was promoted to ninth by Yuki Tsunoda's demotion for forcing him off at turn one. Early debris damaged the floor of Bottas's car. ALPHATAURI (Yuki Tsunoda 12, Nyck de Vries 14)

Tsunoda collected a five-second penalty that dropped him out of the points. The Japanese driver felt that was 'very harsh'. De Vries lost positions on the opening laps. WILLIAMS (Alexander Albon 16, Logan Sargeant 20)

Albon started 18th, Sargeant from the pit lane. Both lacked downforce.
