A conservative U.S. legal group on Tuesday accused the National Football League (NFL) and its teams of engaging in discrimination through its influential "Rooney Rule," which requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate for coaching and executive positions. America First Legal, which was founded by former Trump administration officials, filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) alleging that the Rooney Rule amounts to unlawful race bias under federal law.

Olympics-Team USA ready to settle in quiet, state-of-the-art training centre near Paris

Team USA are ready to settle in a small French town, far from the hustle and bustle of central Paris, when they set up their quarters at the revamped Athletica centre for this year's Olympics. Some 1,200 athletes and staff will use a state-of-the-art facility in Eaubonne, which has a population of 25,000 and is 15km north of Paris, after the Athletica training centre's renovation is completed in a few weeks.

Michigan DC Jesse Minter follows Jim Harbaugh to Chargers

Jesse Minter will remain Jim Harbaugh's defensive coordinator, though both are moving nearly 2,000 miles to the southwest. Minter, Michigan's defensive coordinator the past two seasons, accepted the same job with the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday. The Chargers' new head coach is former Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh.

NBA roundup: Bulls charge back for OT win vs. Wolves

Coby White and DeMar DeRozan scored 51 of their 66 combined points after halftime as the host Chicago Bulls rallied from 23 points down for a 129-123 overtime win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Minnesota's Karl-Anthony Towns hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 115 with 50.5 seconds left. In the extra session, DeRozan scored Chicago's first six points, including a go-ahead layup with 2:57 to go. He finished with 10 points in OT.

ATP roundup: Christopher Eubanks dominates in Dallas opener

No. 5 seed Christopher Eubanks fired 10 aces, had a 29-14 edge in receiving winners and saved all four break points he faced as he defeated qualifier Steve Johnson in first-round action at the Dallas Open on Tuesday. Eubanks, who made a surprise run to the Wimbledon quarterfinals last summer, will face Australia's James Duckworth in the next round as he seeks consecutive wins for the first time in 2024. Duckworth was a 7-6 (3), 6-1 winner over Zachary Svajda.

NHL roundup: Knights extinguish Oilers' 16-game win streak

Chandler Stephenson scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and also had an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights snapped the Edmonton Oilers' 16-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday night in Las Vegas. Connor McDavid scored a short-handed goal for Edmonton, which was denied a chance to tie the NHL-record, 17-game winning streak produced by the Mario Lemieux-led Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992-93.

PJ Hall scored 25 points and Joseph Girard III had 21 as Clemson upset No. 3 North Carolina 80-76 on Tuesday night in Chapel Hill, N.C. It marked just the second time in 62 tries that Clemson (15-7, 5-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) had won in Chapel Hill. Clemson's other win at Dean Smith Center happened in overtime in 2020.
