India exploited a rusty German defence, punching three goals as the Harmanpreet Singh-led side outclassed the world champions to make a winning start to the London leg of the FIH Pro Hockey League here on Saturday.
Lead by the outstanding display of Drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, and Gurjant Singh, the Indian team showcased their prowess amidst a young but faltering German side.
One of the critical moments of the match was the unyielding resilience of goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who thwarted numerous German attempts. This victory places India third in the league standings with 24 points, closely trailing behind Argentina and the Netherlands.
India will next face Germany again on June 8, following their matches against Great Britain on June 2 and 9.
