Young Indian badminton prodigy Tanvi Sharma has clinched the title at the Bonn International tournament, part of the BWF’s Future Series, with a notable victory over Wang Pei Yu of Chinese Taipei.
In a match that stretched just over half-an-hour, Tanvi, ranked 181st in the world, fought fiercely to secure a 21-19, 22-20 win.
Hailing from Punjab, the 15-year-old first made headlines with her gold medal at the Senior Asian Championship in Malaysia. Meanwhile, in other categories, Indian women's doubles team of Srinidhi Narayanan and Radhika Sharma, as well as men's doubles team of Prakash Raj and Gouse Sheik, faced defeats in their respective matches.
