India's N Sriram Balaji has advanced to his first-ever French Open pre-quarterfinals, partnering with Mexico's Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela Martinez. India's N Sriram Balaji has achieved a significant milestone by booking his spot in the pre-quarterfinals of the French Open, teaming up with Mexican partner Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela Martinez. The Indo-Mexican duo secured their place by overcoming French players Dan Added and Theo Arribage in a tightly contested three-set match, with scores of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, wrapping up in one hour and 42 minutes.

Balaji, who is likely to be Rohan Bopanna's pick for the Paris Olympics doubles team, and Martinez had previously defeated American Reese Stalder and Dutchman Sem Verbeek in straight sets. This victory marked Balaji's first win at the prestigious clay-court Grand Slam.

As they advance to the pre-quarterfinals, Balaji and Martinez might face Australian Open champions Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, provided Bopanna and Ebden win their second-round match.
