The New Orleans Saints activated wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. from injured reserve on Saturday after the 33-year-old missed the past 10 games with a knee injury.

Ginn played in the first four games before being shut down. He was placed on injured reserve in Week 7 and underwent arthroscopic surgery. He is expected to see action in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I did what was best for the organization and what was best for me," Ginn told reporters during the week. "They said I.R., I went on I.R., went in there and worked my butt off to get back to my guys. I did what was best for us, the organization, my family, the whole team."

Ginn caught 12 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns in the opening four games. The Saints are hoping he'll give the receiver group a boost as star Michael Thomas (109 catches) has been the team's lone consistent performer.

Tre'Quan Smith with 24 is the only other wideout on the squad with more receptions than Ginn. New Orleans released offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas to open up the roster spot.
