The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced on Friday its intention to respond within 48 hours to criticisms made by former national coach Igor Stimac. The Croatian coach labeled the AIFF's senior officials, especially president Kalyan Chaubey, as responsible for the stagnation in Indian football.

Stimac's dismissal on Monday followed the team's inability to progress to the third round of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. He has since threatened to pursue legal action against AIFF through the FIFA Tribunal if his outstanding dues remain unpaid.

In an online press conference, Stimac expressed his frustrations: ''Indian football is imprisoned, and Chaubey is to blame. He prioritizes media popularity over the sport's wellbeing. The sooner he leaves, the better for Indian football.''
