IOA To Introduce Medical Insurance and Pension for Former Olympians: PT Usha

In an effort to support former Olympians, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) led by PT Usha, plans to introduce medical insurance and a pension scheme. The proposal aims to offer financial assistance and secure healthcare for retired athletes. This initiative was inspired by the challenges faced by ailing Olympian Limba Ram.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is making strides to support former Olympians by introducing medical health insurance and a pension scheme, announced by its president PT Usha on Sunday.

Usha has officially proposed these recommendations to the IOA's Executive Committee, which will soon deliberate on their implementation. The initiative aims to assist ex-Olympians financially, with all expenses covered by the IOA.

The idea was sparked when Usha witnessed the struggles of Indian archer Limba Ram, who sought financial aid from the IOA after suffering a brain stroke.
