For the first time in 12 years, India will dispatch a full six-member archery contingent to the Olympics, enabling participation in all five events at the Paris Games.

This achievement follows the Indian men and women securing team quotas based on updated world rankings. Team qualification ensures participation in every archery event at the Olympics.

The last full team participation for India was at the London 2012 Olympics. Despite several attempts, India has yet to secure an archery medal at the games.

In the men’s category, India and China qualified, while Indonesia joined in the women’s section. Each team event will feature 12 squads, with five outfits competing in mixed competitions.

Notably, this year's team quotas were extended to the top-two nations post the three-leg Olympic qualifiers.

The Indian Archery Association decided to retain the World Cup Stage 3 squad, leading to the fourth Olympic appearances for veterans Tarundeep Rai and Deepika Kumari. Newcomers Dhiraj Bommadevara, Ankita Bhakat, and Bhajan Kaur will debut, with Pravin Jadhav making his second appearance.

Summarizing the team's prospects, Indian high performance director Sanjeeva Singh emphasized strong chances in men's, mixed, and individual events. The contingent departs on July 9 for acclimatization in Paris, expecting to build on previous successes, including World Cup medals and memorable performances in Paris.
