India and Australia are set to face off in a highly anticipated multi-format women's A series in Queensland next month. This series is seen as crucial preparation for both teams ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, scheduled for less than four months from now.
The tour will include three T20Is in Brisbane, three ODIs in Mackay, and a four-day match at the Gold Coast. Cricket Australia confirmed the schedule on Monday and named three Australia A squads for the series. Australia's vice-captain Tahlia McGrath will be at the helm for the 20-over and 50-over teams, while Charli Knott will lead the four-day squad.
'I'm really looking forward to being a part of this series and for the challenge that India A will pose,' McGrath said in an interview with cricket.com.au. Fellow Australian quicks Megan Schutt, Kim Garth, and Tayla Vlaeminck will feature in the white-ball matches, marking their first play since April's tour of Bangladesh as they gear up for the T20 World Cup scheduled in October.
