Both Houses of Parliament on Monday celebrated the remarkable triumph of the Indian cricket team, who clinched the T20 World Cup.
In a heartfelt address, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed that the team's victory would serve as a powerful source of inspiration for the nation's youth and sportspersons. Birla extended his congratulations to the triumphant team, led by Rohit Sharma.
Similarly, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar lauded the team, emphasizing the historic significance of this win. ''Such historic accomplishments inspire every citizen to dream big, work hard and achieve eminence,'' Dhankhar remarked.
He also commended the South African cricket team for their resilient performance in the T20 World Cup final, held in Barbados on Saturday. After a 17-year wait, India emerged victorious, narrowly edging out South Africa by seven runs on June 29.
