The Billie Jean King Cup finals in November have been switched from Seville to Malaga, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced on Wednesday. The move results in an overlap with the Davis Cup, both set to be held at the Martin Carpena Arena in Malaga.
The tournament will commence on November 13 and conclude on November 20. The last two days will overlap with the Davis Cup finals, happening from November 19-24. The relocation was demanded by the event's host partner, Junta de Andalucia, and supported by the city and provincial council of Malaga.
Existing ticket holders for the Seville event have the option to exchange their tickets for the same sessions in Malaga or receive a full refund. The format will feature eight national teams in a knockout round, with four teams receiving a bye to the quarterfinals. ITF CEO Kelly Fairweather assured a seamless experience for both players and fans.
