Key Decisions Await Jay Shah at ICC Annual Conference
Jay Shah, BCCI secretary, is expected to be a focal point during the ICC Annual Conference in Colombo. Discussions are anticipated about his potential takeover as ICC chairman from Greg Barclay. Financial losses from the T20 World Cup in the USA and various administrative matters, including ICC's new external auditor appointment, will also be key topics of discussion.
All attention will be on BCCI secretary Jay Shah during the four-day ICC Annual Conference in Colombo, beginning Friday, where his potential succession of New Zealander Greg Barclay as chairman of the global body will likely be a significant topic.
The conference, starting with the board meeting on Friday, is expected to be overshadowed by financial losses exceeding USD 20 million from hosting T20 World Cup games in the United States.
Although the nine-point AGM agenda doesn't include the event's financial details, it will be examined by the board as part of the standard 'post-event report' procedure. Other agenda items include appointing a new external auditor for the ICC, discussions on ICC memberships, a report from the associate member's meeting, and the ICC Development Awards presentation.
