Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Karnataka Emerge Victorious in South Zone Championship 2024

On the sixth day, Hockey Andhra Pradesh clinched the women's title with a decisive win over Hockey Karnataka, while Hockey Karnataka triumphed in the men's event, beating Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu in a thrilling shoot-out. Hockey Telangana and Tamil Nadu secured third places.

The sixth day of the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women and Men South Zone Championship 2024, hosted in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, concluded on a high note on Wednesday. Hockey Andhra Pradesh claimed the women's championship, with Hockey Karnataka seizing the men's title.

In the women's final, Hockey Andhra Pradesh dominated Hockey Karnataka with a 5-0 victory. An early goal from Ankitha Bommu set the tone, followed by a hat-trick from Lalitha Kotari and a goal from Jhansi Bobbili.

The men's final witnessed Hockey Karnataka edge past the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu. After a 1-1 draw in regulation time, Karnataka clinched the championship 4-2 in a shoot-out. Key contributions came from Kiran Reddy and goalkeeper Vachna Kalapaa.
