Kavin Quintal, a young star from Chennai, is poised to make history as the first Indian rider to compete in the WorldSBK SSP300. The 19-year-old has been granted this groundbreaking opportunity by the Irish team, Team#109 Retro Traffic Kawasaki, backed by Gaman Racing Global Service. His debut will take place in the fourth round in Most, Czech Republic starting Friday.
Founded in 1988, SBK represents a high-stakes arena for heavily modified production sports motorcycles, featuring multiple rounds hosted on permanent racing tracks. Quintal will be stepping in for the team's main rider, Spaniard Daniel Mogeda, who is currently sidelined due to injury.
Quintal's riding prowess is already well-regarded in the racing community. He has shown his mettle in the European Stock Championship within FIM JuniorGP and the Asia Road Racing Championship, where he secured top-10 finishes. His journey from earning points in Indian National events to winning the Talent Cup twice, and eventually flourishing in European circuits, underscores his promising career trajectory. The practice sessions will begin on Friday, followed by races on Saturday and Sunday.
