McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri dominated the third practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday, setting the fastest times.

Max Verstappen, the current points leader, secured third place in his Red Bull, with Mercedes' George Russell right behind.

Lewis Hamilton experienced a slip and spun his Mercedes on the track, ending up with the 10th-best time.

As the Hungarian GP marks the start of the second half of the season, qualifying takes place later today for Sunday's race.

Max Verstappen aims for his fourth consecutive Formula One title, leading with 255 points. Lando Norris holds second place with 171 points.

Recent races have seen McLaren and Mercedes closing the gap with Red Bull. Hamilton and Russell have won the last two races, and Norris has shown he can match Verstappen's pace.

Norris also had the fastest car on Friday under scorching track temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). Overcast skies cooled the track to 40 C on Saturday.

Ferrari is looking to rebound from a recent slump. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz claimed victories earlier this year.

Last year, Hamilton secured the pole position here, with Russell doing the same in 2022. However, Verstappen won both races, overcoming a 10th-place grid start two years ago.
