South Korea's Kim Si-woo made history at Royal Troon by recording the longest hole-in-one in Open history. The extraordinary 238-yard shot on the par-three 17th hole marked a significant accomplishment during his third round on Saturday.
Selecting a three iron from his bag, Kim's ball landed on the front fringe of the green and then rolled seamlessly into the hole. This remarkable shot eclipsed the previous record of a 212-yard hole-in-one made by Frank Lickliter II at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 2001.
Kim, who ended his round with a level-par 71 and is five over after three rounds, expressed profound joy and described this latest success as his most memorable hole-in-one among the six he has achieved in his career.
