American rapper Snoop Dogg is set to be one of the torchbearers carrying the Olympic flame during the final stretch before the Paris Games commence on Friday.

Snoop Dogg, aged 52, will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, a northern Paris suburb known for its underprivileged status and as the home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium. The announcement was made by Saint-Denis Mayor Mathieu Hanotin on social media platform X.

"Saint Denis: last step before the Eiffel Tower. An international cast @SnoopDogg for the last stretch of the Olympic Flame," Hanotin wrote. Snoop Dogg is also contributing to NBC Primetime's coverage of the Games and is renowned in the sports world for his Snoop Youth Football League, which culminates in a championship game known as the 'Snooper Bowl.' Additional torchbearers in Saint-Denis include French actress Laetitia Casta and rapper MC Solaar.
