Hockey India Unveils Advanced Athlete Management System

Hockey India launches a state-of-the-art Athlete Management System to enhance elite athlete performance and nurture grassroots talent. The system features advanced tracking, personalized training, wellness monitoring, and robust security, marking a transformative step in Indian hockey's development.

Hockey India has initiated a groundbreaking Athlete Management System (AMS) aimed at rejuvenating the management and development of hockey talent across the nation. The AMS will serve two main functions: Elite Athlete Tracking and Grassroots Talent Identification. For elite players, including all members of the four national teams, the AMS will provide personalized, data-driven support to bolster performance and maintain competitive edges.

The system will also be pivotal in identifying grassroots talent, tracking players from their initial involvement in hockey across various levels—district, state, national, and international. The objective is to spot and nurture emerging talent, ensuring a future pipeline of highly skilled athletes. Essential features of the AMS include comprehensive assessment tools, training load measurement, integration with wearable devices, customized workout plans, health and injury tracking, wellness monitoring, a coaching scheduler, timely alerts, secure media storage, advanced security measures, and hosting on Indian servers with regular data backups.

Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey emphasized the significance of the AMS, calling it a transformative step in supporting and developing athletes. Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh remarked on the system's role in enhancing training programs via advanced technology. Indian Women's Hockey Team Coach Harendra Singh highlighted the AMS's benefits in injury prevention and recovery, asserting the holistic development of athletes through the integration of technology, science, and skills.
