Chaos Ensues After Pitch Invasion During Argentina vs. Morocco Olympic Opener

In a dramatic turn of events, Argentina's Olympic football opener against Morocco ended in chaos after a pitch invasion in St-Etienne on Wednesday caused a prolonged delay. Argentina coach Javier Mascherano expressed disbelief at the ensuing disorder.

Cristian Medina thought he had secured a last-minute draw for Argentina with a goal deep in injury time. However, the goal was disallowed for offside by VAR following a two-hour interruption while the stadium was cleared of fans. According to Mascherano, there was a significant lack of communication from the organizers during the delay.

'I can't explain what happened. We spent about an hour and a half in the dressing room where they never told us what was going to happen,' Mascherano told reporters. Despite the confusion and frustration, the former Argentine defensive midfielder urged his team to stay positive and focus on their next matches against Iraq and Ukraine.
