Everton has secured a loan deal for Napoli midfielder Jesper Lindstrom, with an option to make the transfer permanent in 2025, both clubs announced on Friday. Although financial specifics were not disclosed, Italian sources indicate that Everton will pay around 3 million euros ($3.26 million) as a loan fee and have agreed to a 22.5 million euro buyout clause for the 24-year-old player.
Lindstrom, who joined Napoli from Bundesliga's Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 and made 29 appearances, expressed his eagerness for a fresh start with Everton. "Last year was tough, but I’m thrilled to be here and can’t wait to get started," he said on the club’s website.
Lindstrom believes the move to Everton is a great opportunity to get back on track and showcase his skills. Meanwhile, Everton has also added forward Iliman Ndiaye from Olympique de Marseille on a five-year deal. The team begins its league campaign at home against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, Aug. 17.
