Indian Shooters Miss Medal Cut in Paris Olympics 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team
Indian shooters Ramita and Arjun Babuta finished sixth in the 10m air rifle mixed team qualifications at the Paris Olympics, narrowly missing the medal round. Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh ranked 12th. Shooters from China, Korea, and Kazakhstan dominated, securing the top three spots.
Indian shooters were eliminated in the 10m air rifle mixed team qualifications stage of the Paris Olympics on Saturday. Ramita and Arjun Babuta finished sixth with a total score of 628.7, while Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh secured the 12th place with an aggregate score of 626.3.
The pair of Ramita and Arjun Babuta came close to qualifying for the medal round, positioned fifth with three shots remaining. However, they fell short by just 1.0 point.
Babuta had a strong start in the second relay, posting scores of 10.5, 10.6, 10.5, and 10.9. Ramita's scores were 10.2, 10.7, 10.3, and 10.1 in the second series, pushing the team into the top 8. Despite this effort, they were unable to reach the bronze medal round. Shooters from China, Korea, and Kazakhstan dominated the qualifications, taking the top three positions.
