Rafael Nadal's manager announced that the 22-time Grand Slam champion is set to play his first-round singles match at the Paris Olympics on Sunday.

The 38-year-old athlete has faced numerous injuries over the past two seasons, with his right thigh taped during his first-round doubles win with Carlos Alcaraz for Spain on Saturday night. Nadal had not confirmed his singles participation after that match.

“Tomorrow, I don't know what's going to happen,” Nadal said on Saturday, emphasizing his need to consult with his team before making a decision.

Following a Sunday morning practice session to assess his fitness, Nadal chose to compete against Marton Fucsovics of Hungary in the afternoon on Court Philippe Chatrier, as noted by his manager, Benito Perez-Barbadillo.
