Fayis Asraf Ali, a dedicated cyclist from Kerala, has pedaled more than 22,000 kilometers over two years to reach the Paris Olympics, where he plans to cheer for Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. Starting his journey on August 15, 2022, Ali cycled through 30 countries to promote peace and unity.
In a surprising twist, he met Chopra last year in Budapest, where the athlete encouraged him to come to Paris. Despite health issues and the logistical challenges of such a trek, Ali was undeterred, traveling with minimal gear and relying on community support.
Ali, an engineer, began cycling after his father’s death and a personal health scare. His wife supported him while he embarked on his mission, proving that passion and perseverance can overcome significant hurdles.
