Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen showcased his exceptional skills by defeating Belgium's Julien Carraggi in a Group L men's singles badminton match at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Monday. Sen clinched the match in straight sets, 21-19, 21-14, over 43 minutes at the La Chapelle Arena.

The Indian athlete overcame a four-point deficit to win the first game and maintained complete control in the second. This victory followed his deleted win over Guatemala's Kevin Cordon, who withdrew from the contest due to a left elbow injury, affecting his scheduled Group L matches.

Meanwhile, in a different event, India's women's doubles team faced challenges. The duo of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa were defeated by the world number four pair, Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida of Japan, with scores of 11-21, 12-21 in a one-sided Group C clash, putting their campaign in jeopardy.
