British diver Tom Daley added a new silver medal to his Olympic collection on Monday after a stellar performance in the men's synchronized 10m platform diving with his partner Noah Williams. The duo delivered exceptional dives, earning Daley his fifth Olympic medal, making him the first diver from Great Britain to achieve this milestone since his debut as a 14-year-old at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Although Daley and Williams produced six impressive dives, they were ultimately outperformed by China's Yang Hao and Lian Junjie. The British pair put significant pressure on their competitors, even scoring an impressive 93.96 in their fourth dive, but the Chinese team responded with a stellar 95.88, securing their gold medal victory. Daley finished the event with a total of 463.44 points.
In addition to his new silver medal, Daley's impressive Olympic medal haul includes three bronze medals and a gold, which he won at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. On the same day, Great Britain's streak of success continued as Ros Canter, Laura Collett, and Tom McEwen clinched the country's first gold medal in team eventing during the final showjumping stage at the Chateau de Versailles.
