Indian ace shuttler Lakshya Sen emerged victorious against Indonesia's Jonatan Christie, winning 21-18, 21-12 in the men's singles Group L match at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday. Sen clinched his spot in the pre-quarters with this decisive 50-minute victory held at the La Chapelle Arena.
Sen showcased dominance from the start, leading 8-2 in the first game before capitalizing in the second to close the match. Topping Group L, Sen might face fellow Indian player HS Prannoy in the Round of 16, which starts on Thursday.
On Monday, Sen defeated Belgium’s Julien Carraggi in straight sets, 21-19, 21-14, in a 43-minute match. However, his win against Guatemala's Kevin Cordon on Sunday was 'deleted' after Cordon withdrew due to an elbow injury. Sen's initial victory against Cordon was also in straight sets, 21-8, 22-20.
