In a reassuring update, the Indian Golf Union (IGU) has confirmed that prominent women's golfer Diksha Dagar and her family are safe after a car accident in Paris. This incident occurred on the night of July 30-31.

Dagar, who will compete in the individual stroke play event at the Paris Olympic Games from August 7-10, remains uninjured and is scheduled to participate as planned. Her father, Col. Narinder Dagar, along with her brother and mother, were also in the vehicle. Col. Dagar reported that although Diksha's mother sustained a spinal injury and is under medical supervision, the rest of the family is unscathed.

President of IGU, Brijinder Singh, expressed relief and support in an official statement, commending Diksha's resilience and reiterating that the Union is in constant contact with her family. This will be Diksha's second Olympic appearance after she debuted at the Tokyo 2020 Games. The 23-year-old Arjuna Awardee and two-time Ladies European Tour winner is expected to deliver a commendable performance despite the recent mishap.
