Potocka, 21, was seen wearing an oxygen mask as medical personnel took her away for further medical attention. Officials confirmed that she was conscious at the time.

Upon exiting the pool, Potocka fell and was quickly surrounded by medical attendants. It remains unclear if she required CPR during the incident.

Fellow swimmer, Israeli Lea Polonsky, acknowledged the inherent risks in swimming, mentioning that athletes consistently push their limits despite potential dangers.

Competing in her first Olympics, Potocka resides in Bratislava and finished seventh in her heat with a time of 2:14.20. Her performance was not sufficient to advance to the semi-finals, leading to her elimination from the competition.
