JoAnne Carner, at the age of 85, impressively shot a 9-over 80 during the second round of the U.S. Senior Women's Open at Fox Chapel.

The day after matching her age with an 85, Carner scored consecutive birdies on the par-5 second and par-3 third holes in her rain-delayed round. The Hall of Famer has notably matched or beaten her age eight times since the tournament began in 2018, including seven instances within her last eight rounds.

Carner, holder of eight U.S. Golf Association titles including the U.S. Women's Open in 1971 and 1976, will, however, miss the weekend cut. Meanwhile, Kaori Yamamoto of Japan holds a three-stroke lead, having set a new 36-hole scoring record. Other top contenders include Lisa Grimes, Stefania Croce, and Mikino Kubo, each in strong positions as the round continues.
