In a surprising turn of events, Mathias Boe, the coach of Indian badminton sensations Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, announced his retirement on Saturday. The decision followed their defeat at the Paris Olympics quarterfinals.

Shetty and Rankireddy faced a tough match against Malaysia's Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, ultimately losing 21-13, 14-21, 16-21. Boe, a silver medalist from the London Olympics, had been coaching the duo since before the Tokyo Olympics.

Expressing his retirement on Instagram, the 44-year-old Dane mentioned the stress and demands of coaching. Despite not winning a medal, he praised his players for their dedication and passion, emphasizing their efforts in overcoming injuries and setbacks.
