Enea Bastianini of Ducati clinched his first sprint victory at the British Grand Prix. Despite starting third on the grid, he overtook Jorge Martin to seize the lead. Meanwhile, two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia crashed, failing to extend his championship lead, and Marc Marquez also crashed out.
Enea Bastianini of Ducati delivered a stellar performance to earn his maiden sprint victory at the British Grand Prix on Saturday. The 26-year-old rider, who began third on the grid, overtook Prima Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin on the sixth lap to take the lead.
Martin, starting from fourth, initially surged past polesitter Aleix Espargaro to take an early lead and narrowed the championship gap with Francesco Bagnaia by one point ahead of Sunday's race. Despite constant pressure from Martin, Aprilia's Espargaro, who set a new lap record in qualifying, managed to secure third place.
Bagnaia experienced a crash at turn four, while six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez of Gresini Racing also crashed out, marking a challenging day for the top contenders.
